I know my screen name might lean towards a slight bias but I honestly think Mason Katz might be a future stud.
Meet Mason Katz - Senior from LSU:
As a freshman, Katz batted .318/.388/.364 in very limited playing time (44 ABs). He followed that up his sophomore year batting .337/.371/.532. As a junior he hit a .320/.420/.552. Currently midway through his senior year he is batting a whopping .436/.426/.863. He has 52 hits this year, 22 of the extra base hit variety with 13 HRs and 55 RBIs,
I was not able to track down any fielding metrics for him but the eye would say he is above average defensively.
Of course, the next question? Where does he play? This year he is manning first base but he has had significant playing time in RF and even a few games in CF. As we currently are without any respectable OF prospects and he is currently a senior in college, it would seem he could easily climb the minors easily.
