i don't like Sandy Alderson

New York Mets

i don't trust @MetsGM when the Mets have the money to spend. he seems like the kind of guy who would rather win the deal then over pay to fill a need or to acquire a superstar. Sandy should have offered Mike Bourn a 5th year vesting option. if Bourn legs gave out like many of u worry about then he would never have made it to that vesting option. and if he did then that would mean that he was worth the contract is still good and the Mets could still use him. Nimmo wont be ready for 4-5 years any way so why not sign Bourn and give him a vesting option MLB would have rulied in the Mets favor and Bourn would have waited to sign if he was offered a 5th year vesting option.

don't let me get started on Scott Hairston. Sandy cared so much about chewing Hairston down and getting the cheapest deal that Hairston signed with the Cubs. even though the Mets desperately needed a right hand power bat. and a guy that has proved he can hit HR in the enormous Citi field. Sandy cared more about saving 1 or 2 million bucks then he cared about making the Mets a competitive 2013 team. and what about Jose Valverde the Mets didn't even make him an offer. the Mets pen was literally the 2nd worst in all of MLB and all sandy has done to fix it is get young MLB failures and old guys coming of injuries looking for a 2nd chance. i don't think Sandy is the kind of guy u want negotiating for Jacoby Ellsbury Sandy will care more about saving the team a million then getting the best CF and leadoff hitter on the market. this is not the Oakland A's this is New York. the Mets need to spend and all of u please don't start in about Jason Bay the Mets just use that as an excuse not to spend money. not every player tuns 30 and numbers fall off a cliff like Bay. the Yankees won how many world series signing proven MLB players for lots of money and that has worked out pretty well.

in 2014 the Mets need 2 or 3 OF and a starting pitcher and a Closer. i think Sandy will cheap out and let the best players the Mets need get away in lieu of getting the best deal. if Sandy wont pay more then 2-years 5-million for Scott Hairston. how can i expect him to get the deal done for Jacoby Ellsbury or or Shin-Soo Choo or whatever the Mets really need. and lastly in 2012 before the all star break frank-frank and Gee got hurt and Sandy did nothing. he let the team languish without a closer and and missing a starting pitcher. he refused to bring up Harvey to fill the void in the rotation or go out and spend on a closer. he did nothing as the mets kept losing he cared more about giving Harvey more time in AAA that he did not need then about the big league ball club. he cared more about waiting for a closer to become cheap while letting the Mets lose then getting what the Mets need. the Mets were 6 games over 500 after the all star break. and Sandy did nothing before during or after the break he just watched the Mets keep loosing and did nothing to help stop the bleeding. there were trades to be made things to be done he should have gotten Jonathan Broxton but Sandy waited for something to fall in his lap instead of going out and getting what the mets needed.
