Why can't the Mets get Stanton

New York Mets

the mets have alot of good young pitching that will be ready in a few years. Noah Syndergaard, Michael Fulmer, Domingo Tapia, Rafael Montero, Luis Mateo, Jacob DeGrom, Hansel Robles, Cory Mazzoni. some of them are going to succeeded, some of them are gonna fail, some of them are gonna be moved to the pen and someone i didn't even mention will be a MLB contributor thats the way it goes with prospects. Giancarlo Stanton is only 23 years old and a proven MLB contributor and has been for 3 years. if i'm the marlins i would rather take 4-5 of the Mets top pitching prospects of this caliber for Stanton more then 1 blue chip close to MLB ready prospect. i would want a plethora of pitching prospects because of the risk of them fizzling out in MLB. and because id want them all ready to join MLB at the same time with the marlins other 20 year old prospects. the marlins are not going to be competitive for atleast 3-5 years. and by that time Stanton will be a free agent. and the longer they keep Stanton the less prospects and less quality of the prospects they will get in return for him. i expect Wilmer Flores to have big year in Vegas and i think he will be worth alot in a trade by the end of the year. and as long as all these pitchers keep progressing and none of them have a hiccup. i think this winter the Mets will have enough high end talent that is close enough to MLB ready to make a run at Stanton. and enough money to spend to lock up Stanton to a long term deal. i would not Trade Zack Wheeler or Travis D'arnaud for him but i think with Wilmer Flores and all the young power arms in A, AA and AAA the Mets could get a deal done for him
