According to Matt Ehalt of ESPN New York, Mets are closing in on deal with the 11th pick in the draft Dominic Smith. Multiple sources are saying the deal is worth $2,840,300 but no one is fully positive on how much the Mets will sign him for.
Smith coming out of Serra High School in California is looking to be apart of the Mets on-going rebuilding process and possibly their future if he lives up to the hype that will surround him.
Another player the Mets will also be expected to sign is Ivan Wilson the 6-2, 200 pound Louisiana prep outfielder, that is raw but might become a future five-tool player in the future. Wilson has said that he is ready to forgo college and begin his pro career and was not concerned with the round he goes in.
It seems the Mets will be able to lock up some good talent from this year's draft and hopefully they will help strengthen the farm system.
