After Duda had been placed on the DL with a muscle strain I thought that Davis might in fact be called back up from Las Vegas. Apparently the Mets did not really even consider it. They called up third baseman Zach Lutz. Now the Mets once again do not have a everyday first baseman. Josh Satin is most likely not the answer at this point. He only has 37 AB with an average of .216. They also have Murphy but he should not be moved from Second Base. He has finally settled into his position at 2B.
Davis without a doubt needed to be sent down and probably stayed a little bit longer than he should of. He was almost an automatic strikeout went he entered the batters box. He has batting a dismal .161 at the time of his demotion. I was begging for him to be sent down for a few weeks. Things have changed now at this point. With Duda on the DL and Justin Turner also on the DL they do not have a replacement at this time.
No way am I saying that Ike deserves to be called up but they really do not have a replacement at this position now with Duda hitting the DL. Ike has had some success in Triple A hitting .310 with 4HR and 8RBI. If Ike continues having success in Triple A I think he needs to be called up to the roster unless out of nowhere Satin or someone else finds success at First Basemen which I do not see happening.
