One issue the Mets are facing is Ike Davis. Ike has "turned it around" in the past few games. He is hitting .292, with seven RBI's, one double, and a homer. On Sunday in Miami, his fourth inning homer tied the game at four. He crushed it to deep center. Then he hit a RBI single to give them a 6-4 lead. Hopefully this hot streak for him will continue in this upcoming series against the rival Nats.
Another thing to look for is the pitching. After Jon Niese and Matt Harvey the starting pitching is atrocious. In the last ten games, Mets starters have allowed 10 walks while striking out 64 in 62 innings. Jeremy Hefner will take the mound for the first time after his first win of the year.
Omar Quintanilla will lead off again tonight. The Mets have struggled with finding a leadoff hitter. Quintanilla is making a case to stay up in the majors to be their leadoff hitter while Tejada is on the DL. Sunday, Quintanilla hit a homerun and is batting .500 with an RBI and a walk in 15 plate appearances.
