AAA - Las Vegas 51s (49-46)__________________________________

NO GAME (SCHEDULE)

AA - Binghamton Mets (59-34)_____________________________________

RICHMOND 3, BINGHAMTON 7 (Box)

We got the good Logan Verrett Monday night, as he struck out nine and walked just one over eight innings to lead the B-Mets over Richmond, 7-3. Allan Dykstra led the way offensively, launching his 16th home run of the season and drawing a walk (of course). Justin Turner had two hits as he continued his rehab upstate. Take your time, Justin.

Hi-A - St. Lucie Mets (13-10 / 50-40)________________________________________

GAME ONE

DUNEDIN 3, ST LUCIE 4 (Box)

Rainy Lara came on to finish this suspended game from Sunday and was solid enough, allowing two runs over four innings while walking one and striking out two. Michael Fulmer had started the first three innings on Sunday, allowing a solo home run and a walk while striking out one. St. Lucie won this one by scratching out two runs in the bottom of the seventh, the winning run scoring on a Kyle Johnson sac-fly.

GAME TWO

DUNEDIN 2, ST LUCIE 4 (Box)

For the third time this season Domingo Tapia was pulled before completing two innings due to ineffectiveness/hitting an inning pitch cap. In this one he went 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 4 BB, K before getting the hook. It's getting ugly when we look at the full season numbers. After tonight's performance he has a 66:39 strikeout to walk ratio over 73 innings. His struggles likely come down to one thing: command. Coming into the season he reportedly had either the best or second best (Wheeler) fastball in the system. It's all about command because he shouldn't be struggling this much in high A which such a plus pitch.

Lo-A - Savannah Sand Gnats (10-12 / 53-38)__________________________________

GAME ONE

GREENVILLE 2, SAVANNAH 1 (Box)

This was a continuation of yesterday's suspended game that Steven Matz was absolutely dominating, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out eight over five innings. Jake Kuebler picked up where Matz left off, allowing one run, one walk, and two hits over the final four innings while striking out five. Unfortunately for Savannah, the offense could only muster one run, and so the Sand Gnats dropped this one by a score of 2-1.

GAME TWO

GREENVILLE 4, SAVANNAH 7 (Box)

Game two went much better for Savannah, mostly because Luis Cessa was on the mound mowing down Greenvillains. He struck out six and walked none over seven innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits. Some timely hitting plated seven runs to back up Cessa and wash the taste from their mouths after game one. Beck Wheeler closed out the ninth with a clean, two strikeout frame. Wheeler now has 48 strikeouts in 34.2 innings against just 7 walks.

Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (12-16)

BROOKLYN 5, CONNECTICUT 4 (Box)/12

It's looking more and more like we were spoiled with what we had in Brooklyn last year--the collection of bats this year are pretty uninspiring. It doesn't help that the Mets' first four draft picks were high-schoolers who have started in the GCL. Still, though, it would be nice if someone could emerge as a legit prospect.

Rk - Kingsport Mets (11-12)_____________________________

GAME ONE

KINGSPORT 7, BURLINGTON 1 (Box)/7

We're still in small sample size territory here, but--much like Brooklyn--I'm pretty unmoved by what we've observed here so far. Victor Cruzado appears to be the lone bright spot to this point and he's old for the league.

GAME TWO

KINGSPORT 4, BURLINGTON 0 (Box)

Rk - GCL Mets (5-15)_______________________________

GAME ONE

GCL METS 3, GCL MARLINS 0 (Box)/7

GAME TWO

GCL METS 6, GCL MARLINS 2 (Box)/7

Star of the Night

I'm giving the star to the underappreciated Allan Dykstra. He strikes out a bunch but walks almost as much and has added some pop to his game this season, entering the night with a .273 ISO. He may not be viewed as much more than an org guy but one thing is abundantly clear: The dude can hit Double-A pitching.

Goat of the Night

Domingo Tapia and his inability to get out of the second inning grab the horns.
