HELLO HELLO, err... sorry... let me try that again.
Hey everyone! First off I'm sorry if this should be a fanshot. I couldn't find an option there for only text, but hopefully this will be a productive enough post. This has been my go-to site for a long time now. I've been lurking for a few years, but today I finally decided to make an account. I love the sabre-speak you guys use, even if I'm not the most fluent in it. And your sense of humor is fantastic, hence why I no longer eat and read at the same time.
Anyway time for the bulk of this post; what I find the most interesting about fellow fans is their stories and history with the team. How they became a fan, what they went through, etc. So I'll use this space to tell a little bit about me, for those of you that care. I've been a Mets fan for all 23 years of my existence (my parents and grandfather made sure of that). Apparently my grandpa used to be a Yankees fan, but "When Dimaggio left, I left!", so I'm not sure what that says about me or him. But I guess the end result is what matters right? Some of my fan notes: Piazza was my favorite growing up. I vaguely remember my first game at Shea, I believe the Mets lost to the Phillies something like 3-1. I remember arguing with my grandpa that Wright was indeed better than Wigginton. I was in tears on both 9/30/07 and 6/1/12 for very different reasons (and I'm not afraid to admit that). Lastly, I love the direction this team is going right now, and look forward to the future.
I have plenty more, but that's enough for now. I've read a lot of you're posts and comments, but I think it'd be interesting to hear about your background too. How did you become a fan? What are some of your best memories? I hope to be a bit more of a contributor than I have been. This is really a wonderful place for fans.
Most importantly, LGM!!!!!!!!
