Meet the Mets
The Mets split a doubleheader with the Nationals, winning the first game 11-0 behind Jenrry Mejia and Daniel Murphy. Unfortunately, they dropped the nightcap 2-1. Matt Harvey was excellent but the Mets' offense was...not.
Mejia was fantastic in his first big league start of the season, which is a really nice thing to see from a guy who was once so highly thought of. The Mets will keep Mejia on the roster by demoting Kirk Nieuwenhuis to Triple-A Las Vegas. Mejia will continue starting as the Mets move to a 6-man rotation. With Kirk down, Juan Lagares will get the everyday job in center field.
Is a run at the NL East title still possible? Maybe. Well, maybe not. But MAYBE!

Around the NL East
The Phillies lost to the Tigers 2-1 last night as they continue to slide and on top of that, Cliff Lee was scratched from his start today due to neck stiffness. Well, at least they signed Cuban righty Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez to a $50 million contract.
Around the Majors
Ryan Braun lied to a lot of people and one of them was Aaron Rodgers, who said he'd bet a year of salary that Braun was clean. Oops.
Here's something cool: Topps will begin adding WAR to the back of its baseball cards.
