When it comes to judging outings by starting pitchers, game score is pretty great. Created by Bill James, the metric gives every starting pitcher 50 points at the beginning of the game, and the pitcher can either increase or decrease that number based on his performance. Here's how that score can change.

Game scores in the mid-60s and above and generally pretty good. Those above 85 are excellent. Anything that nears or exceeds 100 is typically pure dominance.
