Meet the Mets
Get this you guys: Matt Harvey left his start yesterday as the pitcher of record on the long side, and the Mets somehow managed to lose the game. That never happens!*
*Note: I may have missed a few games where this happened. I can't be bothered to check Baseball-Reference this morning.
More bad news on the pitching front as Jenrry Mejia was DL'd after leaving Saturday's start with elbow soreness. That's probably it for Mejia's 2013 as he was scheduled for offseason elbow surgery anyway and was holding back in starts because it hurt more when he threw hard. Mejia probably did enough to throw his name in the hat for the 2014 rotation, but this is another black mark against whether his frame/mechanics will work over a 180-200 inning workload.
The Week in d'Arnaud
To the surprise of no one, it looks like Travis d'Arnaud will be sticking around for a while. d'Arnaud is also John Sickels Prospect of the Day, while Jays fans are wondering if they are losing alllllll the trades. And for you roto guys, RotoGraphs looks at d'Arnaud from a fantasy baseball perspective.

Rob Neyer thinks Bud Selig will solve all of Tampa's stadium problems. Because if there is one thing Selig never does, it's make things worse by his presence.
David Laurila polled some pitcher and catchers to see what they thought was the most important pitching stat. In related news, the Mets really need to get Brian Bannister back in the org. Or at least put him on the postgame show. He and Ojeda arguing pitching would be awesome.
