Meet the Mets
So it just felt like last night's game took four hours right? No, it actually took four hours? Okay then.
If you don't already feel sufficiently chastened for your viewing choice, here is a non-comprehensive list of things you could have in the time you spent watching Daisuke Matsuzaka pitch last night:
- Prepare and roast a small chicken
- Finish Haruki Murakami's short novel, After Dark (which I highly recommend)
- Listen to all of Kiss's Alive II (which I do not necessarily recommend)
- Knit a child's hat.
- Watch all of Tuesday's game, basically.
In case you have bleached the memory of last night's from your brain with bourbon (which I definitely recommend), Wilmer Flores made his major league debut at second base. From Twitter reports, it went about how you would expect. Why don't people listen to me?
The resurgence of Jon Niese doesn't make Ted Berg's list of 16 reasons being a Mets fan isn't so bad, but Shake Shack does. No lines, no waiting for September games too!
Vic Black is reportedly the player-to-be-named-later in the Mets trade with the Pirates. He will have to clear waivers before this is officially announced. I hope he does, if only so we can get a dude named "Vic Black" in the bullpen as soon as possible(also, he's a pretty interesing arm).
