Meet the Mets
The Mets split a doubleheader with the Marlins yesterday at Citi Field, falling in the opener 3-0 behind Carlos Torres, and winning the nightcap 3-1 with Daisuke Matsuzaka on the mound. Daniel Murphy and Lucas Duda hit home runs for the Mets in game two.
The Mets activated Jeurys Familia off of the disabled list prior to the start of yesterday's doubleheader. It's a pretty swift return for the righty, who was initially expected to miss the rest of the season.
In the Daily News, John Harper writes that the Rockies are considering moving both Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki in order to start a rebuild. While the Mets would certainly be interested in Gonzalez, they don't appear to have the position player prospects that the Rockies are looking for.
Lucas Duda continues to audition for a job on the 2014 Mets' roster.
