Bronson Arroyo got smacked around by the Mets' offense and Kirk Nieuwenhuis had a huge game in his return to the majors, as the Mets beat the Arizona 9-0 last night and got back to .500 on the season. Jenrry Mejia looked great over 5 shutout innings before a blister issue caused him to leave the game. Gonzalez Germen tossed 3 innings of relief and Kyle Farnsworth threw a clean 9th.

The Mets' outfield is in a state of flux with the injuries to Juan Lagares, who is now on the disabled list, and Curtis Granderson, who is feeling better. To make things more complicated, Chris Young is finished with his rehab assignment after torching the ball in Vegas. In the middle all of this is Captain Kirk, who brought his adjusted swing to the majors.

Even with the outfield issues, Terry Collins insists that Lucas Duda will only play first base.
