Triple-A - Las Vegas 51's (13-5)_______________________________________
EL PASO 4, LAS VEGAS 11 (Box)
In front of a crowd of 2,815 fans, the Las Vegas 51s notched their 13th win of the year in a route of the El Paso Chihuahuas. Jake deGrom won his second game of the year, but in the process, allowed three earned runs, nearly tripling his ERA in the process (0.50 to 1.57). All three runs came in the top of the 5th inning, when he loaded up the bases and then gave up a triple to Reymond Fuentes. The 51s struck back in the bottom of the inning, scoring six runs of their own. That inning, Bobby Abreu socked a two-run homer, Danny Muno socked a three-run homer, and Juan Centeno chipped in with a decidedly less impressive sac fly. Las Vegas had another good showing when they tacked on three more runs in the 6th, with an Allan Dykstra home run being the highlight of that inning. Zack Thornton made his organizational debut in the 8th inning and gave up a home run to Kyle Blanks, the second batter he faced. He was a bit shaky in the 9th as well, allowing two singles, but he worked around them to slam the door in El Paso's face. Thornton was not the only player made his pitching debut for his respective team. In the bottom of the ace, Jeff Francoeur took the mound for the Chihuahuas. He got Dykstra to fly out to center and got Zach Lutz and Centeno to both ground out. Go figure.
ROSTER ALERT
