Demoted to the bullpen on Monday, Jenrry Mejia was in good spirits as he completed his first outing.

The big news before the Mets opened the Subway Series in the Bronx was that Jenrry Mejia would head to the team's bullpen, while Rafael Montero would join the team on Wednesday to take his place in the rotation. Mejia reportedly—and understandably—did not want to make the move to the bullpen, a move he had made before.

But in his first relief appearance this season, Mejia excelled. He finished off the seventh inning after coming in with two outs and threw a scoreless eighth, finishing that inning with a strikeout. And then he celebrated like this.
