Trying to figure out the trade value of Bartolo Colon.

The way i (like/ love to) look at it is this...

Last year Bartolo Colon had a 3.23 FIP in the AL. In 2012 R.A. Dickey had a 3.27 FIP in the NL.

We traded Dickey for John Buck, Travis d'Arnaud , Noah Syndergaard, and Wilmer Buccera.

Colon this year has been the same as last year aside from 3 HORRIBLE starts. Even with those 3 starts he's put up very respectable numbers.

Compare Colons Contract to the R.A. Dickey extension.

Colon is 41, Dickey was 38.

Colon only throws a fastball, Dickey only throws a knuckeball.

d'Arnaud was a top 10 prospect in baseball at the time of the R.A. Dickey trade. Say i'll be nice and knock off Buck, Buccera, and Syndergaard.

Can we get Joey Gallo, Addison Russel, Fransisco Lindor, or even Kris Bryant for Bartolo Colon?

The immediate thought is... NO!!!, But when you think it through logically, Why not?

I mean i really want to know, based on all the points i've just made, why not?

I'm sure that Alderson has made all these points to any team that has asked about Colon. I'm thinking (based on these points) Fransisco Lindor. The Indians are in contention, they could use a starter. Out of the goodness of my heart knocked off John Buck, Noah Syndergaard, and Wilmer Buccera. Say d'Arnaud then wasn't worth as much as Lindor now. He's atleast close enough that with the additions Syndergaard, etc. the differance will be MORE than paid off.

So i'm asking in all seriousness, Why doesn't Bartolo Colon seem to be worth Fransisco Lindor?

Why not?!!!

P.S.

Some may say "Fanshot".

but this is almost 300 words, so i figured it deseved to be a fanpost.
