The following idea was inspired by this comment from another thread.
Build the best team of current and former Mets -- an "All-Timers" team, if you will -- using the following rules.
1) Pick two other teams. Any two teams, so long as they're existing MLB franchises. We'll assume that the Nationals includes the Expos' history, even if they often don't.
2) The players you select must have played for both of those teams as well as the Mets. You may only select players who have played for all three teams. If a player has only played for two or fewer teams, he's ineligible for your roster. (That means no David Wright and no Johan Santana, sorry.)
3) Pick a starting 8, three SP (at least one LHP), and one RP, if possible. If not possible, you will be given a ghost player in that spot, or, if you'd prefer, Nick Evans.
5) If the Yankees are one of your two teams, magic Internet points shall be deducted from your final score.
Good luck, and may Frank Cashen's ghost smile upon your efforts.
