Meet the Mets
Matt Harvey made the worst start of his major league career yesterday, and the Mets lost to the Pirates. That alone would have been unpleasant news, but it came after we learned that David Wright is dealing with spinal stenosis, which at the very least does not sound good. Here's hoping the condition is something from which Wright can find relief so he can get back to playing baseball.

With Wright out, the Mets are in offensive limbo, writes David Lennon. Today, the Mets will give Ruben Tejada a shot at third base in hopes that he can be an upgrade at the plate over Eric Campbell.
Terry Collins has been talking up a six-man rotation that would include everyone currently starting for the Mets plus the returning Dillon Gee.
Around the National League East
The Marlins beats the Orioles on a walk-off hit by Martin Prado the 13th inning. The Braves beat the Brewers in walk-off fashion, too. On the bright side, the Nationals were blown out by the Phillies, which leaves the Mets one-and-a-half games out of first place in the division.
The Nationals' strategy of annoying opposing teams by playing irritating music during batting practice seems to be working on the Phillies. Come on, Mets, play Coltrane's Ascension during visiting batting practice and see what happens.
Around Major League Baseball
Orioles reliever Brian Matusz, whose name came up a bunch in Mets trade rumors over the winter, was ejected for having a foreign substance on his arm. Earlier last week, Brewers reliever Will Smith was ejected for the same thing and was given an eight-game suspension by Major League Baseball.
Josh Hamilton will rejoin the Texas Rangers tomorrow.
David Wright wasn't the only player to get bad injury news. Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco suffered a setback with his hip injury and will probably require surgery. And if that weren't bad enough for Cincinnati, Johnny Cueto will miss his start today with elbow soreness.

Dan Darbandi took a look at some potential trade destinations for the Mets' starting pitchers.
