The Mets beat the Phillies 5-4, as Zack Wheeler was excellent in his second start of the year, to complete a sweep of their division rivals. Wheeler’s line doesn’t look as good as it could have, though, because the Mets turned to Hansel Robles with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the sixth.
Robles served up a grand slam to Maikel Franco that cut the Mets’ lead to one and put three runs on Wheeler’s otherwise spotless record for the night.
As for the Mets’ runs, Yoenis Cespedes double in one in the first, Michael Conforto hit a solo home run to left-center in the third, Asdrubal Cabrera drove in two with a single in the fifth, and Cespedes hit a sac fly to plate what wound up being the decisive run in the game in that same inning.
