Wednesday Morning Mets Newsstand

Lightning style today:

Moises Alou has been stinky. This is news to no one.

Barry Bonds hit #756 last night.3 Girls With Heart have an exclusive blog post from Nationals' play-by-play man Bob Carpenter. Neat stuff.

Carlos Beltran says he is at 75% and isn't sure when he'll return.

Wally Backman tendered his resignation as manager of the Peanuts of the indy South Coast League.

MLB.com looks back at Mike Piazza's dramatic homerun against the Braves on 9/21/2001. I was there; I cried, I cheered, it was cathartic.

Mikey Pizza!
Im hoping the Carlos B comes back soon. But only if he's healthy. The sooner Green goes on the bench, the better.

Met fan gets HR 756 ball.....
Is that too cool or what. Bloodied guy in Met's tee shirt and what looks to be a Reyes jersey being led out by the cops with homerun ball #756. Who is that guy?

I heard on the news this morning
that he is a 22-year-old from Queens who was in San Fran as a stopover on his way elsewhere.

I guess he decided to go to the game.  That was a smart move.

Here, I found the story:

We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!

The HR ball guy
That picture of him is great, he just looks unbelievably thrilled and stunned.
