Que se dillio:
So huge apologies for being MIA this week. I was up until 3am most days with crazy deadlines that wound up not mattering anyway. Such is the daily grind here at Tamaribuchi Heavy Manufacturing Concern. I promise to make up for it.
Tonight we've got the new (and improved?) Mike Pelfrey taking on Magic Wandy Rodriguez.

So much for the start

yeah
Whatever, it's Lance Berkman. He does that. Pelfrey looked very sharp against Pence, Biggio, and Lee (and yes, Craig, you went around).

MVP! MVP!
I stand corrected
by Greenpoint Ian on Sep 7, 2007 8:24 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah, him or Pujols
Jose was way up there with Pujols all summer, in the 11.0-11.5 range, but he's been backsliding tremendously. As long as his woes at the plate don't affect his defense, I can live with it.

Speaking of Beltran
Offense and defense combined, you could legitimately say the Mets have 3 of the top 7 or 8 players in the NL.
Couldn't you?

That's why...
They tell a small fraction of the story.
Yet, all you hear when someone comes up to the plate is "He's at .282 with 4 homers and 22 RBI." Good god, that tells me NOTHING! What is he slugging??

yup

Nah...
I like Burrell a lot. He's not worth 12 million or whatever, but I always tell my fickle Phillies fan friends we'll take him!

Smoltz
DID YOU HEAR THAT, BASEBALL GODS??? I SAID SMOLTZ HAS A NO-HITTER!!!!!
Love this game
And really, it wasn't even that bad a game for Pelfrey. A hell of a lot of hits, to be sure, but so many were singles, and ground ball singles at that. Ground ball pitchers will have nights like that. His GB-FB was 9-4. More nights like that and he'll be just fine.
I agree

OK.....
I'm guessing that since his name is Spanish and not Italian, the uniform manager messed up.
