Mythbusters: Citi Field Kills Homeruns
Inspired by everyone's "sky is falling about our defense/don't worry, we'll just hit our way out of it offense" theories, I put together a chart showing our infields home runs hit when compared to errors scored. This was shorthanded to HERS (Homeruns per Error Scored). Last years team had a HERS of 1.6, so anything above that value would be an improvement, and anything under would be a disastrous experiment. In short, More Green numbers = Less Inge Playing Time
Josh Fields went deep twice and was joined by 4 others to give the Sox their first 6-HR game since '04 as they rolled to an easy win over the Dodgers.
Gavin Floyd walks 7, Dewayne Wise separates a shoulder, Carlos Quentin jacks 2, and Paul Konerko and Jermaine Dye each hit homer number 300 as the White Sox climbed back above .500.
