Ervin Santana threw a No-Hitter in Cleveland. The Angels won the game 3-1. Santana threw 106 pitches, 76 for strikes with Bobby Wilson doing the catching.

August 19: No-Hitter Anniversary

Today (8/19) is the anniversary of two significant no-no's in Cubs history: 1965, they were no-hit by Jim Maloney of the Reds, the last no-hitter thrown against the Cubs at Wrigley and the only CG 10-inning no-hitter in MLB history, and 1969, Ken Holtzman's first no-no vs. the Braves. Holtzman shared some memories of his career with me for this post at SB Nation Chicago.

Kelvin Herrera Pitches 6 No-Hit Innings (R-Burlington)

The Burlington Royals' prime pitching prospect, Kelvin Herrera, pitched six innings of no-hit ball on Friday afternoon/twilight/evening/night. He struck out eight hitters and only hit a single batter that kept him from perfection. He came out due to pitch limit, and the bullpen gave up the 1-0 lead in the 9th before the B-Royals hit a walk-off HR to win it. Herrera is just another really promising young arm in the Royals organization.
