Celebrate the 1986 Mets Championship

In 1986, the New York Mets made the Big Apple turn all of their attention to Shea Stadium through their sheer talent, fun-loving attitude and swagger. This rare combination catapulted them to a World Series Championship and allowed them to "Make the Dream Work".

Diamond Futures Mets Top Prospects 2011

Mets system ranked at #14. "Given the state of the franchise, our ranking of the Mets system likely comes as a surprise to some, but it remains fairly consistent with our view of the system from last year ( TEAM #16 – New York Mets )—a year that saw four of our top eight ranked prospects (Ike Davis, Reuben Tejada, Jon Niese and Josh Thole) make significant contributions with the Big League club. It is an interesting organization in the sense that there are few superstars but a substantial number of players that are likely to make Major League contributions—something that would typify last year’s rookie crop."

Colin McHugh on Wilmer Flores

"I’ve played with Wil for 2 seasons. If there’s one thing that’s undeniable it’s this…he can flat out hit. He has exceptional hands (at the plate and in the field), and not just for a teenager. I wouldn’t rule him out of staying at SS. He has gained foot speed and lateral quickness from 2 years ago as a 16 yr old. in TN. At the very least, I think he will be able to stick at third or play a solid left as he keeps growing. Also, he’s a nice kid. really nice kid."
