Trax on the Block

According to ESPN Insider:

Headed to Fenway?

Aug 29 - ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney reports the Mets and Red Sox have discussed a trade that would send Trachsel to Boston.

The Mets are said to be asking for a relief pitcher from the Red Sox in return for Trachsel, who has cleared waivers. The Mets could also consider acquiring either John Olerud or Roberto Petagine, both first basemen, from Boston.

Trachsel, who pitched eight shutout innings in his first start of the season last Friday, is presently a part of the Mets' bullpen.

If the Mets trade Trachsel for Olerud or Petagine I just might organize an angry mob to storm the offices at Shea Stadium. Trax is not an outstanding pitcher, but he's decent and affordable, and that my friends is worth more than Roberto F'ing Petagine.
