According to Jerry Crasnick, the Braves are working on a deal that would send Marcus Giles, Horacio Ramirez and Jarrod Saltamacchia to the Padres in exchange for Jake Peavy. If anything remotely resembling this deal gets done, it would represent an absolute raping of San Diego GM Kevin Towers at the hands of Braves' GM John Schuerholz.

UPDATE [4:17pm]: Per Metsblog (here and here), Jerry Crasnick was never on ESPN Radio, so this particular rumor appears to be a hoax. This is good news for me and for Kevin Towers, as well as for all future kin of Kevin Towers.
