Game 1: Mets 7, Yankees 6

Jeremi Gonzalez's line from Game 1:

IP H R ER BB SO HR PC-ST GS
3.0 9 6 6 3 3 0 74-49 17
Pretty ugly. In his three innings of work on Friday, Gonzalez compiled an 18.00 ERA and 4.00 WHIP.

Mr. Met:

  • Hitting: David Wright, 36.8% WPA
  • Pitching: Aaron Heilman, 28.4% WPA
Mr. Regret:
  • Hitting: Jose Reyes, -7.5% WPA
  • Pitching: Jeremi Gonzalez, -36.7% WPA

Game 2: Yankees 5, Mets 4

Pedro Martinez's line from Game 2:

IP H R ER BB SO HR PC-ST GS
7.0 4 0 0 1 8 0 102-67 76
Pedro's best start of the season, wiped out by one bad inning from Billy Wagner. Here are my game notes from Saturday night.

Mr. Met:

  • Hitting: Jose Reyes, 0.9% WPA
  • Pitching: Pedro Martinez, 37.0% WPA
Mr. Regret:
  • Hitting: Xavier Nady, -13.9% WPA
  • Pitching: Billy Wagner, -44.9% WPA

Game 3: Mets 4, Yankees 3

(Source: fangraphs.com - what's this?)

Tom Glavine's line from Game 3:

IP H R ER BB SO HR PC-ST GS
6.0 7 2 2 4 4 0 107-58 50
Glavine has had a couple of so-so starts in a row and came out the winner both times. This is a far cry from seasons past in which he pitched lights out but got either a) zero run support or b) shoddy relief pitching, often a combination of the two.

Mr. Met:

  • Hitting: Carlos Delgado, 16.1% WPA
  • Pitching: Billy Wagner, 17.4% WPA
Mr. Regret:
  • Hitting: Kazuo Matsui, -8.7% WPA
  • Pitching: Duaner Sanchez, 0.7% WPA
