Some Mets news from all over, including updates on Victor Zambrano.

Bob Klapisch describes Victor leaving Shea Stadium in tears yesterday.
David Lennon says that Zambrano tore his elbow tendon and is likely done for the year.
In other, not-entirely-unrelated news, Alay Soler made his AA debut yesterday for the Binghamton Mets. Soler allowed one run on seven hits with no walks while striking out nine in 6.2 innings.

Might the Mets consider bringing up Soler sooner rather than later? He has made just this one start in AA but, unlike Pelfrey, he has plenty of professional experience pitching in Cuba. I would have liked to see John Maine get a few more outings, and he might if he recovers quickly enough from the finger inflammation that has landed him on the disabled list.
