Well, it's officially Lima Time! Victor Zambrano has been placed on the 60-day disabled list which means that the Mets don't have to shuffle their 40-man roster around in order to make room for Lima Time! Here's what Lima Time! has done against the Braves over the course of his career (thanks to Baseball Musings' Day-by-Day Database:

IP ERA H R ER HR BB SO
43.1 4.36 46 23 21 8 11 28
Lima Time! doesn't strike out a lot of batters (though his 2006 minor league numbers speak to the contrary), but he also seldom walks anyone. That means that a lot of balls will be put into play today, so Willie Randolph would be wise to put Endy Chavez and his superior defensive skills into the game in place of either Cliff Floyd or Xavier Nady (preferably Nady). Everybody get out your best brooms as the Mets go for the sweep at Shea!

Let's go Mets!
