Orlando Hernandez, Savior?

After a mostly-lackluster start to his Mets career, El Duque has turned in back-to-back solid performances. In starts against the Yankees and now the Pirates, Hernandez has pitched 14.0 innings and allowed 11 hits, 3 walks, two runs and struck out 10. Even with all of their injuries the Yankees still rank fourth in the AL in runs scored, and the Pirates, who are often dragged down by their horrid starting pitching, are seventh in runs scored in the NL.

The title of this post was dreamed up with tongue firmly planted within cheek, but with much of the rest of the Mets' rotation struggling of late, it's nice to see El Duque regain some of his old form.
