The Mets and Braves collide in Atlanta this weekend for a three-game series to determine, once and for all, who will finish the first week of the 2007 season in first place. Even though the Braves restocked the back of their bullpen this winter (to the detriment of their offense in some cases), the front of their bullpen still needs a little work.
- Unlike in seasons past, the Braves are in the unfamiliar position of using the Mets as a measuring stick for how far they have come as a team.
- The Phillies, Jimmy Rollins in particular, ate some crow after their opening series reverse-sweep. The only bad news is that it came at the hands of the Braves. Why couldn't they both just lose?
- Over at MetsGeek, Alex previews the upcoming series in the land of chop.
