Farm System Reports Applesauce - Mets have work to do, Sean Green signs with Greinke, CC ITBSOHL

Around MLB

As 2010 comes to a close, it's time to take a look and evaluate the state of the Met farm system. It's not exactly pretty. Baseball Prospectus lists only Jenrry Mejia as a five-star prospect. Brian Joura at Mets360 taps Wilmer Flores as the team's top prospect, a three star prospect at BP. I don't worry too much about these rankings at the moment. We all know that Alderson and company have a lot of work to do, but it'll get done and I expect the situation to be significantly improved by this time next year.

Some posts out there on the Met starting rotation worth passing along. Brian Mangan gives a prediction on Dillon Gee's 2011 season. Josh Smolow is not buying Mike Pelfrey as a serious fantasy option

Met trainer Ray Ramirez has had a rough few years.

Failblog fails to see a clear win on this Jeff Francoeur poll.

Sean Green to the Brewers

CC is slightly less fat.

The drunk driver responsible for the crash killing Nick Adenhart was sentenced to 51 years to life in prison.

Seattle is not trading King Felix to the Yankees. Don't worry, Yankee fans, you may get Johnny Damon.

And, finally, 2010 MLB salaries dropped 1% from 2009.
