Mets Sign SS Rylan Sandoval

The Mets have signed Rylan Sandoval, a 22 year-old shortstop, who has been playing in the Arizona winter league. The Mets drafted him 30th round in 2007, while at Chabot Junior college, but he decided to attend Long Beach state instead. Here are his stats from Long Beach, where he shared time at SS as a senior:

Sandoval has type-1 diabetes, a condition shared by major leaguers Brandon Morrow and Mark Lowe.
