Oh Frenchy

The rumors are true. After more than a couple adult sodas last night at the blue and orange open mic, I summoned the liquid courage to sing the following tune about Jeff Francoeur. It's sung to the tune of "Mandy" by Barry Manilow. It's either genius or terribly, terribly embarrassing. To make matters worse, there's video coming, too. It will be posted this evening.

Oh Frenchy

Fans remember Mets history
rainin’ down as cold as ice
shadows of a team
collapses in September
cryin’ in the night
The night goes into

Mornin’, just another loss,
No Happy people in Queens,
Lookin’ in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made us, oh Frenchy

Well, you came and you slugged a plenty
When we traded for you, oh Frenchy
Well you’re slumping and you’re hitting .220,
And we need you today, oh Frenchy!

He’s whiffing yet another time
and walking away from the plate
after reaching once again and swinging very late
The tears are in my mind

For Carter we are pining, oh Frenchy

Well, you came and you hit the ball a mile
When we traded for you, oh Frenchy
Well now you suck and where is your smile
And we need it today, oh Frenchy!

Yesterday's a dream
I face the mornin'
Cryin' on a breeze
The pain is callin', oh Frenchy..

Well, you came and you slugged without stopping
When we traded for you, oh Frenchy
Well you’re slumping and your D is sloppy,
And we need you today, oh Frenchy!
