Henry Blanco provided the only offense for the Mets -- a two-run home run in the second that gave the Mets a 2-0 lead at the time. Sadly, he was the last baserunner the Mets would have on the day, as Padres pitchers retired the next 22 batters en route to a 4-2 victory. Johan Santana allowed four runs on eight hits and four walks in 6.2 innings, digging a hole which was far too deep for the Mets enfeebled offense to overcome.

David Wright struck out twice so the AA Pledge Drive totals have been updated on the left sidebar of the front page. Total pledged to date is $826.44, which is awesome.
