One Step Back Applesauce - Mets look at Lilly, use injuries to improve, Ollie's rehab begins

Meet the Mets

RA Dickey was due for a bad outing and hopefully last night's will be the worst of the year. Seeing a game back in Hiram Bithorn Stadium brought back some weird memories though, didn't it?

Speaking of memories, this year's infield is reminding Greg Prince of some all-time great Met ones.

The difference between 2009 and 2010: injuries have probably helped this team.

Ted Lilly has entered the discussion of possible Met trading targets. Hopefully, though, the Mets can still make a run at Cliff Lee and use the two compensatory draft picks wisely.

But, who am I kidding? We're likely to get stuck with Oliver Perez.

Around MLB

Chase Utley is getting an MRI on his right thumb after injuring it while sliding into second base.

Bobby Valentine is not out of the Marlin picture yet.

Stephen Strasburg has now lost two straight starts, the latest, a 5-0 game to the Braves.

Joel Zumaya heard a pop in his arm and fell to the ground screaming in pain last night after throwing a 99 mph fastball. That cannot be good.

Speaking of guys with horrific arm injuries, Mark Prior is attempting yet another comeback.

Carlos Zambrano talked to Kevin Millar (?) and explained he was just angry at the team's play in general.

Can Adrian Beltre's defense boost his case as a Hall of Famer?

Jesse Orosco Jr. and Wally Backman Jr. are playing together for the Tucson Toros.

Outside MLB

Larry the Cable Guy is funnier when he doesn't open his mouth.
