Announcing SB Nation Regional Sites, SBN:New York

Sbn-regionals-bg

Some of you may have already noticed, but this morning SB Nation began rolling out its regional sites, beginning with New York, Boston, DC, Arizona, Detroit, and Chicago. SB Nation CEO Jim Bankoff breaks it down for us at SBNation.com. You can also read more about it in this nice feature in today's New York Times.

As far as our local teams go, we've got SBN:NY, which is managed by Ed Valentine of Pinstripe Alley (Yankees) and Big Blue View (Giants) and also features the writing of Amazin' Avenue's poet laureate Howard Megdal. If you follow other New York area teams but not with the same zeal you apply to rooting for the Mets, SBN:NY should be a perfect complement/eventual replacement for reading the local sports rags. Check out the intro post and follow them at @SBNationNY on Twitter.

And if you plan on being in the city this Wednesday night, go RSVP for the SBN:NY Regional Meet-Up at The Ainsworth on West 26th. There will be drink and food specials, door prizes, and other cool stuff. It'll be a good opportunity to meet some of your fellow SBN readers and writers, and there might even be a James Kannengieser on hand. If you plan on going, do RSVP at the link above so they can get a head count, and mention it in the comments so folks will know who to expect. It'd be nice to get a big AA showing.
