Angel Pagan says it's too soon to count the Mets out, and if healthy, they can give the Phillies a fight. He thinks Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes will each have a big year in 2011.

The Mets will make two appearances on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball in the first half of the 2011 season. One game in Philladelphia, one game in San Francisco, and plenty of Bobby Valentine.

Trever Hoffman announced his retirement a couple days ago, and the Mets might miss him. For what it's worth, Heath Bell considers Hoffman a mentor.

There's some buzz that John Maine is in talks with the Phillies. The Mets made the right move when they let him walk, but it's never fun to watch a former Met in a Phillie uniform.
