Below is a little video recap of the trip that Mets pitchers Mike Pelfrey, R.A. Dickey, Bobby Parnell & Dillon Gee made to the FDNY Training Academy at Randall's Island yesterday morning. All four guys -- as well as Mets COO Jeff Wilpon -- took part in firefighter training activities ranging from putting out a car fire to rappelling down a four-story building.
We had a really great time watching the guys in all their gear running up and down the training facility and beyond that we got some really first-rate audio & video which hopefully you guys will enjoy. Once again, I have to say how pleased I am that the Mets have enthusiastically welcomed the blog community into the fray and more importantly, I also want to thank the New York City firefighters as well as FDNY Commissioner Sal Cassano who led the excercises for a really fun day and for the amazing job they do on a daily basis.
Enjoy!
