The Dickeys: 2011 Amazin' Avenue Community Mets Awards

When we first announced the Dickeys for 2011, the people asked for polls so they could vote on the best and worst Mets players of the year. Nearly all of the award winners picked by the Amazin' Avenue community were the same as those picked by the writers. The rest of the ballots looked generally similar to ours, but there were some slight differences.

Best Rookie: The top three finishers were identical to those in our vote. Here are the results.

Player % of Vote
Lucas Duda 80%
Dillon Gee 9%
Justin Turner 6%

Worst Relief Pitcher: Carrasco and Igarashi matched our vote, but the community is less impressed with Bobby Parnell. Here are the results.

Player % of Vote
D.J. Carrasco 50%
Ryota Igarashi 31%
Bobby Parnell 11%

Best Relief Pitcher: All three pitchers are the same. Here are the results.

Player % of Vote
Francisco Rodriguez 32%
Manny Acosta 28%

Worst Starting Pitcher: The noticeable difference in this vote was the absence of Dillon Gee. Here are the results.

Player % of Vote
Mike Pelfrey 84%
D.J. Carrasco 5%
Chris Schwinden 2%

Best Starting Pitcher: Gee finishes in the top three here, while the writers had Chris Capuano in his place. Here are the results.

Player % of Vote
R.A. Dickey 61%
Jon Niese 14%
Dillon Gee 8%

Worst Hitter: Jason Bay still leads the way, but Willie Harris is a little less frowned upon. Here are the results.

Player % of Vote
Jason Bay 40%

Willie Harris 12%

Best Hitter: These are the same except for Murphy in third place. Here are the results.
