Some of the highlights:
- No decision has been made about Beltran vis a vis center field
- Jason Isringhausen looked 'outstanding'...Specifically he threw a change-up that Collins hadn't seen yet which really impressed him
- Ollie looked good, changing arm angles and mixing in a new cutter he's working on
- Capuano was pounding the strike zone all day
- All of guys 'in competition', meaning Emaus, Murphy and Castillo as well as Capuano, Young and Gee, will get plenty of time starting against other teams
- He's been impressed by both Young and Capuano and feels they're no longer question marks for the back of the rotation but Gee is definitely in the mix and so is Pat Misch
- No idea when Paulino will get here
- Beato has an extremely good chance to make the club...he's 'going to get an opportunity'
- Manny Alvarez has 'a real good arm' but he needs to show he can pitch to situations and get out major leaguers
- Thole has improved worlds defensively
- Hale says Murphy is getting better around the bag every day
- Ruben Tejada is swinging the bat 'as good as anybody in this camp'...but he's absolutely going to play SS in Buffalo as a reserve for Reyes
- 2B prospect Jordany Valdespin 'can play the hell out of second base'
- Having seen him play last summer, Nats' stud prospect Bryce Harper is extremely impressive
