Spring training is finally over. The Mets defeated the Marlins in their final meaningless March game. They did so behind Chris Young, who threw 5 innings, allowed 2 runs, and had 4 strikeouts and 4 walks. D.J. Carrasco, the only member of the Opening Day bullpen to appear in the game, threw a scoreless inning. Jason Isringhausen, John Lujan, and Justin Hampson each threw a scoreless inning, too.
In his second consecutive game, Carlos Beltran went 1-for-3 while playing 6 innings in right field. As for those 6 runs the Mets scored, Jose Reyes came in on a wild pitch in the 3rd inning before Angel Pagan scored on a David Wright single. The other runs all came in the 7th inning on a Josh Satin solo home run and a three-run homer by Scott Hairston.
The Mets visit the Marlins to begin the regular season on Friday at 7:10 pm.
