AAA - Buffalo Bisons (4-9)_______________________________________

BUFFALO vs ROCHESTER PPD

Rainy night in western NY, I doubt Nick Evans was informed he had the night off...

AA - Binghamton Mets (5-6)_____________________________________

BINGHAMTON 5, PORTLAND 3 (Box)

Binghamton jumped on Portland in the first inning, scoring four runs which proved to be enough run support for Mark Cohoon to pick up his first win of the season.  Cohoon continued to shine at AA, striking out 11 and allowing only 2 flyballs in his 7 innings of work.

Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (12-2)________________________________________

ST. LUCIE 7, Charlotte 6 (Box)

St. Lucie rallied from an awful start by Kyle Allen to get the win in Charlotte.  The bullpen combined to throw 7 1/3 innings of 3 hit ball to allow the offense to rally in the 7th.  RBI hits from Jeffry Marte and Wilmer Flores did the damage in the big inning for St Lucie, who continues to pace the FSL.  Jason Bay was 1-3 with a pair of walks and a pair of runs in what was likely his last rehab game before rejoining the big club.

Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (6-7)__________________________________

SAVANNAH 5, LEXINGTON 4 (Box)

Savannah managed to string together a series of singles and walks in the 5th inning to score 4 times and take the lead in Lexington last night, and that proved to be just enough.  The Savannah bullpen shut down the Lexington offense the rest of the way, allowing no hits in the final three innings to seal the win for Yohan Almonte despite a so-so start.  Cory Vaughn and Aderlin Rodriguez led the way for the Gnats with a pair of nice nights at the plate, Robbie Shields chipped in with a very nice night as well.

 Star of the Night

Has to be Mark Cohoon for his stellar effort in Portland.  If he keeps up pitching like this, he'll likely be in consideration for a big league start if the Joel Sherman firesale happens to include a starting pitcher.  Aderlin Rodriguez was a distant second with a nice showing at the plate this evening.

Goat of the Night

Kyle Allen walks away with this one tonight after trying to single-handedly lose the game for St. Lucie.  Hopefully he'll bounce back from the poor performance and show why so many of us have him on our radar.
