Angel Pagan has been placed on the 15-day disabled list after pulling his left oblique last night. The injury was incurred during Pagan's fifth-inning at-bat when he tweaked his side on a foul ball. Willie Harris "played" centerfield for the remainder of the game, and while Pagan was listed as day-to-day last night, apparently the injury is bad enough that he'll need at least a couple of weeks to fully heal.
Jason Pridie has been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to take Pagan's spot on the roster and in the field, and will bat eighth and play center tonight against the Diamondbacks. Pagan is hitting just .159/.259/.246 and has taken some circuitous routes in center of late. Those facts are (presumably) unrelated to the 'blique tweak last night, but a bit of time off might not be the worst thing for him (or the Mets) right now.
Pridie was hitting .186/.226/.356 with the Bisons with three homers, three walks, and twelve strikeouts in 59 at-bats.
