Dickey Day-to-Day, Misch DFA, Thayer Up, Fernando Down

An MRI today revealed that R.A. Dickey has a partially torn plantar facia in his right foot, but the Mets say he is day-to-day. Dickey says he expects to make his next start, which would be a good thing given the lack of options on the farm.

Angel Pagan has officially been activated, and it comes as no surprise that Fernando Martinez has been sent back to Buffalo, where he can play on an everyday basis.

Pat Misch has been designated for assignment, and he sure did earn it. The odds of another team claiming him this time through waivers remain incredibly low. Taking his place on the roster is Dale Thayer, a reliever most Mets fans probably forgot was in the organization. He's a 30-year-old right-handed pitcher who threw 15.2 innings for the Tampa Bay Rays between 2009 and 2010. In Buffalo, Thayer has pitched 26.1 innings, striking out opposing hitters at an 8.5 K/9 clip while keeping his walks down to the tune of 2.1 BB/9.
