New York Mets Daily Farm System Report - 8/22/11 - Double Dipping Farm Reports

*All results from games played on Saturday, August 20th and Sunday August 21st

Send all of your questions about the Mets farm system to AAProspectMailbag@gmail.com!

Sorry about the lack of a farm report yesterday...blame Juan Mata for moving to Chelsea if you want (I assume we need someone to blame in the absence of Beltran), as I got busy with that and simply forgot I was supposed to be covering our farm.  Just to make sure you stay up to date, I'll have all of the boxscores included today.  All numbers will be done in a Saturday followed by Sunday format.

AAA - Buffalo Bisons (56-72)_______________________________________

BUFFALO 15, COLOMBUS 3 (Box)

BUFFALO 10, COLOMBUS 2 (Box)

I don't know what's come over the Buffalo offense the last two days, but I like it.

AA - Binghamton Mets (56-71)_____________________________________

BINGHAMTON 6, PORTLAND 4 (Box)

BINGHAMTON 7, PORTLAND 6 (Box)

Even Binghamton seems to have decided to make a run at respectability lately...it's amazing what an injection of talent will do.  Watch out in 2012...

Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (28-26)________________________________________

BRADENTON 3, ST. LUCIE 1 (Box)

ST. LUCIE 4, BRADENTON 3 (Box)

This was actually a double header on Sunday as Saturday's game was postponed

Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (35-21)__________________________________

SAVANNNAH 2, GREENVILLE 0 (Box)

GREENVILLE 7, SAVANNNAH 3 (Box)

Short Season A- Brooklyn Cyclones (34-25)_______________________________________

TRI-CITY 3, BROOKLYN 0 (Box)

Sunday's game was suspended, I wish Saturday's was as well...we got 1 hit by the combined Tri-City staff

Applachian League (R)- Kingsport Mets (33-26)_______________________________________

KINGSPORT 17, BURLINGTON 14 (Box)
BURLINGTON 6, KINGSPORT 2 (Box)

Lot's of offense on Saturday, not so much for the good guys on Sunday

Gulf Coast League (R)- GCL Mets (24-27)_______________________________________

GCL NATIONALS 5, GCL METS 3 (Box)

This one was yesterday, as the GCL Mets had Saturday off.  Both Brandon Nimmo and Michael Fulmer played in this one, and Fulmer in particular looked very promising in his longest outing as a pro.

 Star of the Night

We'll give the star to Jordany Valdespin on Saturday (although I was tempted to give it to Wheeler), and Zach Lutz on Sunday.

Goat of the Night
Danny Muno can get the horns for Saturday just so he can remember that one time he played badly in Brooklyn, Angel Cuan is the clear winner on Sunday
