Sunday's Bison game was postponed, so we'll begin with AA

AA - Binghamton Mets (47-68)_____________________________________

BINGHAMTON 7, READING 4 (Box)

Every time the Phillies scored a run the Mets immediately responded in their next turn at bat.  That's a good recipe for success at any level, and it allowed the Mets to take 2 out of 3 in this series.  Jeurys Familia got roughed up a bit, but not walking anyone allowed him to limit the damage done to a reasonable level.  The eight hits he allowed were a season high, and most of his balls in play were flyballs today.  Juan Lagares and Jordany Valdespin continued to impress for the offense, both have raised their stock by a good margin this season.

Hi-A St. Lucie Mets (22-21)________________________________________

ST. LUCIE 5, CHARLOTTE 2 (Box)

Zack Wheeler looked really good.  He was in total control of this one from the start, allowing only 4 runners to reach base.  Only 2 of the 8 balls put into play against him weren't grounders, so it's good to see he's still inducing them with his mechanical changes.  Cory Vaughn had a great game as well, he continues to do a bunch of little things well even though his power looks down this season.

Lo-A Savannah Sand Gnats (28-15)__________________________________

SAVANNNAH 7, CHARLESTON 3 (Box)

Savannah's catching tandem did a very nice job with runners in scoring position today, as both had exceptional games.  The offense they provided was more than enough for the pitching combination of Goeddel and Almonte who had a very solid 8 innings of combined work.

Short Season A- Brooklyn Cyclones (27-23)_______________________________________

BROOKLYN 10, STATEN ISLAND 2 (Box)

The Brooklyn offense was fantastic in this one, exploding for ten runs against the league leading Yankees.  Javier Rodriguez was exceptional today, and Danny Muno and Chase Greene had solid performances as well.

Applachian League (R)- Kingsport Mets (23-23)_______________________________________

KINGSPORT 10, BURLINGTON 3 (Box)

Kingsport scored early and often, as everyone but Jeff Glenn managed to reach base for the Mets.  That was enough for the pitching staff who pitched well enough to bring Kingsport back to the .500 mark.

Gulf Coast League (R)- GCL Mets (20-20)_______________________________________

GCL MARLINS 4, GCL METS 3 (Box)

The Mets lost this one in 11 despite a relatively solid all around pitching performance.  Chin-lung Hu made his first appearance in a while, I'd guess he'll be back up in Buffalo soon.

 Star of the Night

It has to be Zack Wheeler for my money.  Strikeouts, no walks, and grounders are a great combination.  He did have two wild pitches, but Francisco Pena didn't do a great job on those either.

Goat of the Night

Not many truly awful nights tonight, so we'll give it to Jeff Glenn for missing out on the hit parade in Burlington.
