In his lsat start of the season, R.A. Dickey wasn't quite as sharp as he often was throughout the year, but he was by no means bad. In six innings, Dickey gave up three runs, struck out eight, and didn't issue any walks.

The Mets didn't score while Dickey was in the game, but they rallied for three runs in the eighth inning against Marlins stater Jacob Turner and relief pitchers Mike Dunn and Heath Bell. From there, the game went into extra innings as neither team was able to score, but the changed in the bottom of the eleventh.

Jose Reyes triple against Collin McHugh to start the inning, and the Mets opted to intentionally walk Giancarlo Stanton and Carlos Lee to load the bases. McHugh struck out Rob Brantly but surrendered a chop single to Donovan Solano to end the game.
