Meet the Mets
Andy Martino is reporting that those that have inquired on R.A. Dickey have found that the Mets would like a whollllllllle lot for the Cy Young award winner (still awesome to type). As it should be.
Ruben Tejada's Panama squad staved off elimination, winning a slugfest over Colombia in the World Baseball Classic. Tejada was 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Yesterday at AA
Brock Mahan celebrated the anniversary of the Mets last Cy Young win, by one Dwight Gooden.
Around MLB
The Blue Jays are close to naming their next manager. Jim Riggleman or Jim Tracy? Really? You add 160 million dollars in payroll and skimp on the manager? And I can't even get Not Jim Tracy's opinion on this since the Up and In Podcast ended, so I got nothing here.
The 2013 Hardball Times Annual is out. It's always a good read, plus it's a sign that Annual season is upon us already, which gives us something to kill time before pitchers and catchers report.
Hiroki Kuroda will either re-sign with the Yankees or return to Japan.
Agent Gary Sheffield has been getting a lot of inquiries on Jason Grilli.
And Now, Your Mets Highlight of the Day to Get You Through the Long, Cold Offseason:
And Finally, Your Non-Baseball Link of the Day
"Consider the Lobster," need I say more?
